Seven Bro7hers Honeycomb Pale Ale Review – Brotherly Love

In the eight years since the McAvoy brothers Guy, Keith, Luke, Dan, Nat, Kit and Greg started their brewing company, the seven brothers have quickly established a broad range of unique tasting and incredibly refreshing beers. Inspired by their dad’s home brewing, the brothers have brought a family touch to their beers and shown how brewing as a hobby can inspire the creation of award winning and delicious beers. The creative variety of the Salford based brewery has proved fruitful, with Seven Bro7thers becoming double winners of the European Beer Challenge 2021 for their Watermelon Wheat Beer and their Honeycomb Pale Ale.

Pint of Seven Bro7hers in glass Onlycans

The Honeycomb Pale Ale in particular is a personal favourite and certainly worthy of its award. The amber coloured ale pours smoothly with minimal head. From the first sip, the honeycomb flavour is strong and notable, balanced perfectly so that despite a lack of subtlety, the flavour is by no means overwhelming. Evoking the flavours of a crunchie bar, Seven Bro7hers have created a beer perfect for those with a sweet tooth. The flavour profile isn’t particularly complex, beyond the honeycomb flavour, the ale is reasonably malty but otherwise it’s difficult to provide a description beyond delightful. At a relatively 4.0 % ABV, you shouldn’t need to worry too much about how moreish the Honeycomb Pale Ale is.

If you find yourself in one of Seven Bro7hers beer houses in Liverpool or Manchester or find yourself in a pub in Manchester with the Honeycomb Pale Ale on draught, I highly recommend giving the beer a try as the quality remains consistently high regardless of location. Otherwise, all of Seven Bro7thers beers can be ordered from their website coming in various sized cans depending on their strength. While it can be difficulty to replicate the quality of pour, the 440ml can of Honeycomb Pale Ale is particularly impressive in terms of being equally if not more flavourful in terms of the taste, enhanced by the beer’s strong aromas of honey.

The 7 McAvoy Brothers

The Honeycomb Pale Ale is a personal and highly recommended favourite. The approach of the McAvoy family to experiment with varied flavours and types, and their consistent successes in creating new beers is as enticing as the Honeycomb Pale Ale itself. I would highly recommend trying any of Seven Bro7hers’ beers including the awarding winning Watermelon Wheat Beer. The consistent quality that the McAvoy brothers produce leaves me keenly interested in the future of the brewery and awaiting their next new beer with great anticipation.
